LISTEN TO THE WORD
- Be in LifeGroups & Worship every Sunday & Stay on the journey to Reading God’s Word every day in 2018.
- In Ruth, how do you hear God’s clear call to love and take care of the widow and the orphan? How does that relate to James 1:27? What does that mean for you?
- How do you hear God’s clear call to be man or woman of great integrity, kindness, and determination?
- How is the Lord challenging you to hear and respond to the call to trust Him in spite of what your circumstances might be?
LEARN THE WORD
- As you read through Ruth (in a few months) – what do you see and learn that you didn’t know before? How does that change how you think and respond to the Lord?
- What do you discover new about the Lord as you read through Ruth and how He works?
- Where do you see the scarlet thread weaving through the book of Ruth? Hint – the tribe of Judah – a grandson
LOVE THE WORD
- How do you see God’s great love throughout the book of Ruth, in particular the kindness of Boaz towards Ruth and the redemption that he provides? How is God like that to us?
- Don’t you love that we can see the whole story and see what began as bitter ends in beauty and redemption? Name some of the specific ways you’ve seen this in your life. How does it make you love God more?
- How does it make you thankful and love Him more because of Him being your kinsmen Redeemer, the only One who could?
LIVE THE WORD
- Ask the Lord to Redeem your life if you haven’t already! It’s as simple as the ABC’s -- Admit, Ask, Believe, Confess and Commit your life unto Jesus. He’s waiting!
- Identify any area of your life that is like Naomi -- you’ve gotten off God’s design. Get back to your “Bethlehem”.
- Who do you need to show kindness to in your life? Specifically, how can you show that kindness and compassion to the stranger, the foreigner, the orphan or the widow? What’s something specific you can do now?
