What is the Purpose of My Work?

Series: Faith at Work: Taking Faith to Work and School

Summary

“Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God’s words; if help, let it be God’s hearty help. That way, God’s bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and he’ll get all the credit as the One mighty in everything—encores to the end of time. Oh, yes!”

1 Peter 4:10-11 (Message)

    Our Response:

    1. How does the world define the purpose of one’s work or school? How is that different from God’s purpose for your work/school?
    2. What is or has been the purpose/motive of your school & or work? How does your view change from this message?
    3. When you hear biblical worldview – what comes to mind? Why is this so important when it comes to understanding our purpose of work/school?
    4. What are the values/virtues of the world’s purpose of work/school? They are some that are the same, what makes them different for a Christ Follower?
    5. Who or what are you doing your work/school for? What changes when you see it as you have an audience of one – the Lord?
    6. Who are some examples or role models for you in your work/school? How can you see Jesus being that example for you?  Why is that different?
    7. What impact are you making in your school/work? How
and what will you do to see that change?
