WHY DO YOU NEED A TEAM?

 1. WE’RE FAMILY

“We work together as partners who belong to God.”  1 Cor. 3:9a

 

  1. WE NEED EACH OTHER

“… Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of Christ’s Body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn't amount to much, would we?”              Romans 12:5 (Message)

 

  1. WE GET MORE DONE

 “Two are better off than one, because together they can work more effectively.”     Ecclesiastes. 4:9 (TEV)

 

“The one who plants and the one who waters work as a team with the same purpose…” 1 Corinthians 3:8 (NLT)

 

WHAT IT TAKES TO SERVE AS A TEAM:

 

TRUST

“…guard what has been entrusted to your care.”  1 Timothy 6:20

 

“Many people claim to be loyal, but it is hard to find a trustworthy person.”     Proverbs 20:6 (NCV)

 

  1. BEING CONSISTENT

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.”     Luke 16:10 (NIV)

 

  1. BEING CONFIDENTIAL

“A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps

a secret.”    Proverbs 11:13 (NIV)

 

  1. BEING CLOSE

     A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.  

      Proverbs. 17:17 (NASU)  

 

EMPATHY

“…Live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic…” 1 Pt. 3:8

 

  1. SLOW DOWN

     “Be quick to listen and slow to speak…”         James 1:19 (NIV)

 

  1. ASK QUESTIONS

A plan in the heart of a man is like deep water, But a man of understanding draws it out.  Proverbs 20:5 (NASU)

 

  1. SHOW EMOTIONS

“Rejoice with those who rejoice, & weep with those who weep.”   Rom. 12:15 (NAS)

 

ACCOMODATION

“…pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace…” 2 Tim. 2:22b

 

  1. EACH OTHER’S NEEDS

Let's please the other fellow, not ourselves, and do what is for his good and thus build him up in the Lord.   Rom. 15:2 (LB)

 

  1. EACH OTHER’S IDEAS

“The intelligent man is always open to new ideas.  In fact, he looks for them.”     Proverbs 18:15 (LB)

 

  1. EACH OTHER’S PERSONALITIES

We all have different gifts, each of which came because of the grace God gave us.  Romans 12:6 (NCV)

 

  1. EACH OTHER’S FAULTS

     “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.   Ephesians 4:2 (NIV)     

 

MISSION

“Let us not give up the habit of meeting together…but let us

encourage one another.”   Hebrews 10:25 (NIV)

 

“Live in a way that brings honor to the Good News of Christ.
