Commit to Lifelong Radical Generosity

Series: Worth It!

Summary

1) TRUST GOD WITH THE TITHE

One-tenth of the produce of the land, whether grain from the fields or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD and must be set apart to him as holy. Leviticus 27:30 (NLT)

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” Malachi 3:10 (NIV)

2) PLAN YOUR GENEROSITY

But generous people plan to do what is generous, and they stand firm in their generosity. Isaiah 32:8 (NLT)

3) START BEING GENEROUS NOW

And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ. Philemon 1:6 (NLT)

4) TAKE TH E NEXT STEP UP THE GENEROSITY LADDER

“Some people spend their money freely and still grow richer. Others

are cautious, and yet grow poorer. Be generous, and you will be

prosperous. Help others, and  you will be helped.”

Proverbs 11:24-25 (GNB)

Commitment #2: I will assign every dollar a name in a monthly budget, and spend my money on paper, on purpose, before the month begins.

Commitment #3: I will eliminate all debt from my life and live debt free from now on.

“The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.” Proverbs 22:7

Commitment #4: I will train my children to handle money God’s way.

“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Commitment #5: I will save & invest my money, building wealth slowly through consistent, wise decisions.

“Give portions to seven, yes to eight, for you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.” Ecclesiastes 11:2

Commitment #6: I will give a tithe of my income back to God, trusting Him to meet my daily needs.

“’Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the LORD Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.’” Malachi 3:10
